The rules that set the price
A rule is four choices: what you compare with, how you sit against it, how the price is rounded, and what happens when the competitor is out of stock. The rest are brakes.
How the price is worked out
How your price should sit against what you compare with.
Sit a percent below
The most common. Margin stays predictable as the competitor moves.
Sit an amount below
Good on expensive goods, where a percentage hits too hard.
Match the price
The same price as them. For when you compete on something other than price.
Work up from cost
Start from what the item costs you. The market becomes a ceiling, not a steering wheel.
One competitor price, four rules
Example
This is the whole difference between the rules: they start from the same figure and land on different prices. You choose once, then it does the arithmetic every morning.
Cheapest of the competitors
329 kr
What the item costs you
245 kr
The rule you picked
Your price becomes
2 % below
€322
€5 below
€324
The same price as them
€329
From your cost, 30 % margin
€350
The only one that does not follow the market. Here you land above the cheapest, and that is the point: the rule starts from what you have to be paid, not from what they charge.
Then it is one click
Whichever rule you pick, the same thing happens in the morning: we show the new price, the rule that worked it out and the page the figure came from. You press approve, or you do not.
What you compare with
Which competitor price the rule works from.
The cheapest
The lowest price we find. Sharpest, and most sensitive to one shop dumping.
The average
The mean of everyone we read. Calmer. It does not move for one campaign.
One you choose
Follow a single shop. For when there is a clear price leader.
Rounding
How the price lands before it becomes a suggestion.
| Rounding | How the price lands before it becomes a suggestion. |
|---|---|
| None | The price the rule worked out. |
| Nearest whole unit | Up or down, whichever is closer. |
| Up | Always up. Safest for margin. |
| Down | Always down. Sharpest, and it costs margin. |
| Ending in 9 | 129, 139, 149. An exact tie goes to the lower one. |
When the competitor is out of stock
A price from someone who cannot deliver is not really a price.
Use the others
Skip the one who is out. The most common choice.
Ask me
Hold the price and put the decision to me. For when a single competitor sets the tone.
Use the price anyway
Count it regardless. For when stock swings back quickly.
What the rule concludes
Every run ends in one of three answers, with a sentence on why.
Change the price
Inside your limits. In live mode the price is set; in suggestion mode it waits for you.
Ask me first
Something is too large or too strange. The price stands and you get the question.
Leave as is
The difference is too small to be worth anything.
Brakes
What stands between a rule and your price. They are on from the start.
Floor and ceiling
Lowest and highest price. If the floor sits above the ceiling, the floor wins — you should never sell under it.
Smallest change
Do not move a price for one krona. You set the threshold, and anything under it is no decision.
Largest jump
A change bigger than your daily limit is never set automatically. It is put to you instead.
Implausible difference
A price absurdly far from yours is usually a misread page. Then we do nothing.
Help finding the right item
The same item is often called different things in two shops. An AI can read both rows and say whether it is the same thing.
It only suggests
The AI puts the most likely at the top. You click the one that is right.
We test it first
The add-on is off to begin with. We switch it on once we have seen it work on your items.
Or your own account
If you already have an AI account, paste your key. Then you pay the AI directly.
You decide how much we may do.
Everyone starts in shadow mode: we record everything and change nothing. You move on when you want to.
| You decide how much we may do. | The modes are the product's own. The wording here is the sentence the app shows. |
|---|---|
| Shadow mode | Records everything, applies nothing |
| Suggestion mode | Every change waits for approval |
| Live | Changes inside the limits apply on their own |
| Paused | Nothing applies on its own; approving one still does |
